Entracque - an emotional connection, a sense of being and belonging
Our Valley
The valley is particularly sunny and the landscape has some unique characteristics.
The east facing mountain range along the Busset river valley reaches a height of close on 2300m, it is a limestone formation the same as the Dolomites and it runs from Entracque to the French border.
In contrast the mountains along the Gesso River valley that run from Entracque to San Giacomo and on to the French border are granite and reach their maximum height in the Argentera Mountain at 3297m.
Our Village - The Name
The name ‘Entracque' (Between the Waters) refers to three rivers, the Gesso and Busset that meet just below the village and the Rif that divides the village into two distinct quarters, Pascher, the first you meet on coming into the village from the direction of Cuneo and Autari across the river.
Hi, we are Aldo Giordana and Fiona Tucker. This is our website and we have built it to bring Entracque, the village where we live and the natural world in which it sits to the wider world. Aldo was born here and his love for all that is this valley, the flora, the fauna, the people and their stories is what motivated us to create the site. We hope you enjoy our offering here and that you might also come and visit the village and the valley to experience its beauty first hand.
Over the coming months we will be developing and evolving the content so please come back often.
